QH x Appaloosa
Dude is 15.2hh and has limited sight in one eye. However, this does not prevent him from being a great trail horse. He's the perfect schoolmaster, having done everything, including teaching nervous adult beginners. Due to his age he is no longer suited to pony club, but would be ideal for 1-2 rides a week, or can be left for 2 months and he'll still be calm and sensible. Dude is available for $700
Dude was adopted on 02 December 2006 after 1 month in foster care
Terrier x - male
Bobby is a wonderful little dog who absolutely loves people and is a joy to have around. Bobby gets on well with other dogs and is a very easy going little boy. Bobby loves playing ball and needs to run free so off leash exercise is important. His favourite exercise is chasing a tennis ball. Bobby also loves tummy rubs and sleeping in your lap. You can tell when Bobby is happy and relaxed by the contented little groan he makes. Bobby is very obedient and comes and sits on command. He would make a great family pet.
Bobby was adopted on 02 December 2006 after 2 months in foster care
Boxer x - female
Leelu is a placid sweet girl. She likes to play with her toys and the other dogs. She is a quiet girl and puts herself to bed at night and we do not hear a peep out of her. She is familiar with cats and has been around other dogs of all ages and sizes. She loves to be with people and snuggle on your lap. She would be fine with children and she is not boisterous. Her Father was a pure Boxer and her Mother was a black Labrador X. She will grow to be about Boxer size but not as solid.
Leelu was adopted on 29 November 2006 after 5 days in foster care
Cattle x - female
Kira is a lovely playful puppy who gets along with everyone. She socialises well with other dogs and is quick to initiate play with her yardmates. She has been taught from an early age to sit for her dinner and is comfortable sharing food with other dogs (and even my kids!). She is not destructive providing she has toys to chew on and has a delightful character about her. Because she has never been alone she would probably do best with a family with children or another dog for company.
Kira was adopted on 29 November 2006 after 2 months in foster care
Siberian Husky x GSD - female
Misty is a happy, friendly girl who is only a small girl at 17kgs fully grown (sort of kelpie sized). She would excel at agility and typical of her husky background she is an active, agile girl (so she will need a home with secure fencing). Misty is a very smart girl who loves to talk to you and knows what she wants
Misty is almost cat like sometimes. Today when I got home, she had a long chat to me. When I still didn't get the point, she jumped over the baby gate so she could get into the garage and then came back with her lead in her mouth.
Misty is a very gentle girl who is house trained and loves being part of the family. She is ready to go to her new home now.
Misty was adopted on 29 November 2006 after 2 weeks in foster care
DSH - female
These pure black kittens were found on a construction site after their mother was accidently killed. They have been in care since the age of approx 5 weeks, and are now affectionate, domesticated and playful kittens. Both kittens enjoy playing together, or with any toys you provide them. They love curling up on your lap to be patted and for their size, their purr is very loud! Both kittens are toilet trained, very sociable and would prefer to be rehomed with another kitten or an existing cat. Everyone should have a little 'Magic and Mystery' in their life!
Mystery and Magic was adopted on 29 November 2006 after 2 weeks in foster care
Red Cattle x - male
Nuggety Jake is a playful and affectionate little man. A loyal companion who is always at your side (to the point of tripping you over
see Sponsorship Required), he is always trying to impress you. Jake is housetrained, obedient, cat and child friendly, and picks up easily on your routine. Jake is suitable as an only dog, and as he is well socialized, he will also be a friendly companion to other dogs
Poor little Jake had an accident at his carer's place and injured one of his front legs. A deep cut, heavy bleeding and a lot of yelping had us fearing broken bones, but an emergency x-ray showed these were fine. Jake had an operation to stitch up his wound and had to rest overnight in hospital. Lots of TLC, antibiotics and several checkups later, and we can report that Jake's leg has healed and he is back to his happy bouncy puppy state once again.
Jake's vet bills have come to $686 and we are seeking sponsorship for Jake to help cover these expenses.
