Special Needs Cat
If you are looking for a cat that adores people and is extremely affectionate then Stripey could be the one for you. She is the type of cat that will make friends instantly with all she meets, her favourite place is curled up under your chin getting cuddles. She is BRILLANT with small children and will happily be carted around for hours being held like a baby and played with. Stripey is great with other cats and makes friends quickly with new cats. She is THE most loving, friendly girl and is happy being inside only or inside/outside.
However, Stripey is a special needs cat due to a bout of cat flu when she was much younger. While not contagious at all, she is now a permanent sufferer. This can mean that at times of stress her symptoms can re-appear but the real problem is that she makes a snuffley noise when she breathes. This does not affect her in anyway in terms of her general health but does mean that care needs to be taken if ever she requires an anesthetic. Unfortunately medications have failed to clear the congestion and it looks like something she will have for the rest of her life. So she is looking for someone who can look (or listen) past the breathing noises she makes and that someone will be rewarded with the most lovely, adoring little girl!
Stripey was adopted on 17 August 2006 after 6 months in foster care
Boxer - male
Rocky is a very sweet and friendly boy. He is great with kids and people and gets along fine with female dogs. Not sure about male dogs. He is great in the car and at bath time. Rocky is a very loving boy and would be prefect as a family dog. He requires a home with an adequate sized yard and secure fencing. As he has moved house 3 times in the last 3 weeks he will need a new owner who has the patience and time to give him to settle into his new home and give him the attention he deserves.
Rocky was adopted on 14 August 2006 after 3 weeks in foster care

Stockhorse x Quarter Horse
Picasso was rehomed by DCH last year to a great home in Victoria. However, his new owner no longer has the time to ride him and doesn't want him wasting in the paddock. Picasso is about 16hh. He is quiet to handle, and has had natural horsemanship training on the ground and under saddle. He's done flatwork, jumping logs, riding in the bush, he's good with cars and getting used to trucks and motorbikes. He is responsive to neckreining, leg aids, stops and backs up on command. Picasso works well with other horses or by himself. He would be a good cattle horse/ barrel racer with the right training as he is quick on his feet and very smart and eager to please. He would suit an experienced rider to go on with. Picasso is fine in a paddock with other livestock, and also good around dogs.
Picasso was adopted on 14 August 2006 after 3 weeks in foster care

He has arthritis in his hips and a mild heart murmur, however, he is not affected by either problem at the moment and leads an active life. He gets on well with other dogs, is house trained and has some basic obedience training.

Kelpie x Pointer x Collie - female
Sunshine is a playful, friendly and confident girl. She is the leader of the litter and quickly made herself at home with us. She is different in appearance from her sisters being more like a Labrador. She has a wonderful shiny black coat. She is bright and intelligent and should respond well to training. She plays well with young children and shares the yard with 2 cats.
Sunshine was adopted on 11 August 2006 after 1 month in foster care
