Slippers
Slippers

Slippers

DSH - male

Slippers is a big gentle smoocher boy who just loves a cuddle and thinks his job is to wrap himself around your legs to let you know that he is here and is ready and waiting for lots of cuddles and pats.

He would be happy to share his new forever home with another calm cat as he is living with Zara and they get along really well but he would be just as happy in a single cat household, He is fine with the carers dogs coming up to him to say hello.

He does get stressed with big change and loud noises which gives him an upset stomach so a quieter relaxed home is needed for him. However we have found that by keeping him on sensitive stomach cat dry food he does just fine.

Slippers was adopted on 01 June 2015 after 2.1 years in foster care

Merlin
Merlin

Merlin

DSH - male

Merlin is very affectionate, he has a loud purr and is a lap cat but he is also not to fussed to be alone to snooze in a nice cool spot, making him ideal for the working owner. He likes the window open ajar with the breeze on his face but can be uncomfortable going outside... as a result Merlin is suitable for an indoor home only. He would be well suited for quiet apartment life.

Merlin gets nervous around loud, boisterous children, but is very content around gentle, nurturing older kids. He is cat friendly and litter trained. He is so lovely and is looking for someone to keep him safe this summer and many more.

Merlin comes micro-chipped, wormed with de-sexing included as well as his first Vaccination.

Merlin was adopted on 19 October 2013 after 3 months in foster care

Kenya
Kenya

Kenya

DSH - male

My name is Kenya, however I prefer 'Kenny' or 'Ken'.

I don't have a sad story behind why I am a shy and timid man. That's just my personality, it takes me time to like and trust you.

I was born in care to a lovely mamma cat (my mum Calli who now lives in a forever home) and have resided with two very lovely cat foster carers from DCH. I came to my current foster care at 2 weeks of age with my mum Calli and sister Kokoda, they have both had forever homes for ages now.

I live with a heap of other cats my foster mum is a crazy foster cat lady. I can't keep up sometimes, but I'm always friendly once I know all the other fur fosters. I've even help foster mum out with the tiny orphan by bathing them and role modeling appropriate big cat behaviour.

I still enjoy playing with toys especially if you play with me. I like to cuddle on the lounge with my foster mum and don't mind being picked up, although, I am quite heavy. My foster mum says I could do losing a kilo or two. I LOVE food, human food included.

I don't mind small humans as long as they have a toy and play with me, but I won't go out of my way to hang out with them. I have never been outside, foster mum would prefer you keep me safe indoors but that is completely up to you once we get to know each other better.

I feel it's has to be my time to meet my loving forever home and humans. When you come to meet me I won't come up and give you a cuddle or pay any attention to you, I will hide. That doesn't mean I don't want to be a part of your family, I'm just being cautious.

Foster mum says cause I'm a scaredy cat I can come for a trial at your house (crossing my paws it's my forever home), and introducing me to one room at a time will help me settle in quickly. Like I said before, I LOVE food so if you give me some treats, we will become friends in no time.

I have seen so many foster siblings come and go and never

Ben
Ben

Ben

DSH - male

Ben is a snuggly beautiful boy, who wants nothing more than to give you affection and cuddles. Ben is a character, he will chase your hand around for a pat, kneed the air when you rub his belly and also will kneed the carpet as he eats his meal.

Ben is probably best suited as an indoor cat as he needs protection from the elements- he has a pink nose that is skin cancer sensitive.

He is the most appreciative cat I've ever met and is so worthy of a genuine loving family looking for a loving lap cat. Ben has a huge personality and would love to meet you.

Ben was adopted on 25 October 2013 after 4 months in foster care

Sherman
Sherman

Sherman

DSH - male

If you want an interactive, fun, playful and affectionate young cat that still acts like a kitten, then Sherman is your man. He is into everything - people, other cats, he is even curious about our large dogs.

He would suit most situations including primary school aged children and older, he is quite happy to be carried around like a baby and just relaxes in your arms and purrs contentedly. A bit of a lap cat, he is usually up for a cuddle or three. He is a small cat with a short but very soft and plush coat that is very easy care.

He is obsessed with scrunched up paper and will come running the moment he hears you with it. He could very easily be trained to fetch as he already brings the paper back for you to throw again so he can jump and catch it.

He needs to go to a home that will be understanding about his initial fear of meeting new people - he is quite the scaredy cat at first and will bolt at the first sign of a stranger. He would be best in a home where someone is at home a lot - or at the least with a friendly feline friend for companionship. Available to adopt separately or with his mum Cherry who is also listed with DCH.

Sherman is available to a loving, indoor only home. He is located at Mount Annan.

Sherman was adopted on 24 September 2014 after 1.1 years in foster care

Bruce Lee
Bruce Lee

Bruce Lee

DSH - male

March 2014: Bruce Lee has been ill for the past month with swollen lymph glands and lack of appetite. It was looking very like cancer when there was no response to other treatments, however further tests revealed this isn't the case and slowly he is showing some response to anti-biotics suggesting an infection afterall. Bruce Lee still has a way to go for a full recovery and we are seeking help to sponsor some of his veterinary costs which have so far come to $1,000.

Well what can I say about Bruce Lee? How he ended up on death row at the pound I'll never know. He is the sweetest big boof head you will meet. He loves cuddles and is very much a people cat. He gets along with other cats and my 3 dogs.

Bruce Lee was not microchipped or desexed prior to entering the pound but has now had both done as well as a vaccination. He is looking for a home that has plenty of pats, cuddles and love to give and that will let him be an indoor / outdoor cat.

Bruce Lee was adopted on 24 April 2014 after 10 months in foster care

Lily
Lily

Lily

DSH - female

Lily's a lovely well behaved girl. She has huge yellow eyes, a very soft coat and a big purr.
During the day she likes to go outside to explore and sunbake as she pleases. She always sleeps inside at night. She tried living in an apartment once, but found it too stressful. So she would like to find a new owner that lives in a house, or has access to a garden, where she can come and go safely.

Lilys elderly foster carer says she is very gentle. She never scratches, bites or claws, kind to people and furniture.

She has met a couple of young children and remained gentle, but wasn't really interested in extended kitten type play, or being picked up all the time either.

She does like to chase her ball and have a run around after dinner before she climbs on her carers knee for a cuddle.

Lily loves quiet company, but is social enough that she pops in to say hello to neighbours and doesn't run when visitors come calling.

Her best match would likely be a retired person(s). But if you think your home and Lily would be a good fit too and you can provide her love and care, please call for more details.

Jay
Jay

Jay

DMH - male

Jay is a friendly boy who absolutely loves attention and cuddles. He is very active and enjoys playing with toys and with the other foster cats in the household. Jay is excellent with children and babies, and will even let his foster carer's three month old baby grab for him and all he does is headbutt her in return!

Jay is litter trained and is learning to use his scratching post. He does have access to the outdoors during the day, however he prefers the company of humans and sometimes won't bother venturing outside. The only negative thing about this beautiful boy is that sometimes he can be a little too rough when playing with his brother Kay, so a home where he is the only cat or lives with another dominate cat would be preferable.

He is ready for his new home now!

Jay was adopted on 20 September 2013 after 1 month in foster care

Cleo
Cleo

Cleo

DLH - female

Cleo is a beautiful, de sexed, blue torti, long haired female cat with golden colored eyes. She came to me with a litter of 3 babies, all who have been rehomed now.

She is very verbal and affectionate gentle girl. She will tap you on the shoulder in the morning to wake you up for breakfast.

She is a very quiet and well behaved indoor cat.

Cleo always has used the kitty litter, not fussy about which litter she uses.

Cleo only eats dry food (so no need to buy messy wet cat food).

She is fine left alone indoors by herself for the day.

Low maintenance cat.

Cleo gets along well with cats and dogs

She would make a lovely companion to another friendly cat.

Cleo was adopted on 22 August 2014 after 1.3 years in foster care

Confetti
Confetti

Confetti

DSH - female

Confetti is a lovely natured girl who has been thriving in foster care after being callously dumped at the side of the road when only a young kitten.

She will make an excellent playful pet that will suit most families as she is fully litter trained and loves children.

Confetti was adopted on 02 February 2016 after 2.5 years in foster care
