When Lucy was picked up from the pound she had a very long matted coat from long term neglect. She couldn't even see through her long thick fringe! She went straight from the animal shelter to a local groomer where she was groomed. What a difference hours made to little Lucy!
The pound estimated Lucy to be 4-6 years old but she is very playful, more like a 2-3 year old. She has a small frame, only weighs some 5kgs and has a very gentle nature.
She travels well in the car in either a crate or on the seat next to you. She is fantastic with kids, is so very people orientated and just loves to hang out at your feet. She needs to be with you all the time so you have to make room for her on the sofa and in your bedroom. She is happy to sleep on a rug beside your bed as long as she can sense you are there and that she is not on her own or being locked away from you. While on the computer she finds a spot near my feet and falls asleep.
Lucy loves her walks and is learning to walk well on the lead and as she is so people orientated she is just always happy to stay by your side. She gets on well with her foster carers dog although she is so needy for attention she tries to get all of the pats. She has not had many cuddles in her neglected life and is learning to accept these also she had no idea how to play with toys.
Lucy really craves constant companionship so she'd be best suited to a home with someone home all day or with another dog to give her the company she desperately needs.
Lucy (aka Trixie) was adopted on 21 May 2014 after 4 weeks in foster care

Logan must be rehomed with his brother Mason.
As surrenders, Logan came into care with his brother Mason having had no vet work done other than a microchip and we were told he was blind in his left eye. When the woman bought Mason as a 10 week old pup she was given Logan as a 'freebie' because h, seller said no-one would pay any money for him and she didn't want to get stuck with him.
Having never been to a vet and now 7 months at this point he was taken straight away to get all of his vet work done and while there investigations showed that not only was his left retina unresponsive to light, his right eye also had a 60-70% deficiency. This explains his need for contact with his brother as Mason is his eyes and why these boys must be rehomed together. It is possible Logan may totally lose his sight in the future or his sight may not deteriorate any further but there is no way of knowing what will happen but whichever way Logan has very limited vision even now and needs his brother beside him.
So this poor boy so deserves a very loving and caring home for the rest of his life, doesn't he!
He uses his fabulous hearing to great effect which together with his keen sense of smell allows him to pretty much know where his brother is at all times. If Mason wanders a bit too far I'll hear Logan use his voice (a bit like echo location) to find him again. On first entering my yard he was tentative about what things were, where my outdoor furniture was etc, but now he races around (like any normal puppy does) chasing his brother, playing tug of war with toys and generally having loads of fun.
He is very responsive to training, and loves his walks. He needs to trust you completely on lead as most objects seem to jump out of nowhere for him e.g. he doesn't see parked cars until we're a metre away from them.
He absolutely LOVES attention and happily sits for pats, hugs and cuddles.
Coming to me with no training meant he had to lear

Smeagol came into care after not being adopted from the local pound. He is such a friendly and loving kitten who is purring before you even pick him up, he is good with other cats and isnt worried about my dogs.
Smeagol is very bouncy and playful so will need to be rehomed to a house or larger villa etc. He is not suited to apartment / unit life.
He is waiting for his forever family to find him now :)
Smeagol was adopted on 12 June 2014 after 1 month in foster care

Mason must be rehomed with his brother Logan who has Collie eye anomaly.
Mason is the full brother of Logan who came into my care together on April 20th. He is a gregarious guy, lots of fun always up for a game any time we go into the yard. He enjoys a tug of war with his brother, daily walks where he does tend to try to take charge. He is learning to follow my instructions in this regard and is responding nicely to training.
He does pester poor Logan sometimes. He wants to play and Logan can't see where he's run off to or maybe can't chase him as fast as he'd like, so I think Mason gets a bit frustrated sometimes that he can't "rough house" around as much as he'd like.
He loves everyone, the postman, the lady with a pram, the old man with his walking stick, the kids at the playground, he's a friend to one and all and has received lots the hugs and kisses from strangers to prove it. He is great in the car, just flops down quietly takes it in all in his stride.
He does tend to wonder why I'm training him and often thinks its OK to "see what I've got for him" before he'll "sit" for me. However he has come along in leaps and bounds, given he had absolutely no training prior to arrival and he does look up to me for direction. He will benefit from ongoing training.
He absolutely must be rehomed with Logan. In time to come Mason will play a vital role for Logan as he will become his eyes, his guide, and his security blanket in a dark world that most likely will eventually become Logan's life.
A yard inspection will be required prior to rehoming these 2 loving and gorgeous boys together.

The first thing that struck me about these dogs is how affectionate to humans they are. Up to now they may have been very badly neglected all of their lives but this has not affected their relationships with humans in any way, actually they absorb every bit of love and kindness that is shown to them and give it back twofold.
They both crave and need human contact. On his 1st day in foster care, Tate tried to crawl into my lap and under my arm. I think if he could have crawled under my skin he would have - he just wanted to get as close as possible simply from being shown attention. Tate really want to please you, he comes when called, and sits when told. He so wants attention and if another dog is receiving a pat he needs to be in on the action.
Gailee takes her cue from Tate, she is always up for pats and scratches but is a tiny bit more independent than Tate. She is very curious and always looking into and smelling everything, but when she does stop, she has this way of just sitting there and looking at you with trust and waiting for you to call her. Being so thin for so long Gailee is very food focused, but her intensity of searching for any morsel of food is slowly diminishing as she comes to depend on her now very regular meals.
Both dogs love being brushed, which I attribute to the fact that they are getting some of the attention they crave. Gailee actually goes into a state of relaxed bliss during grooming time.
Both dogs are ok with cats - but Gailee does get a little too excited (she does not attack the cats in our household but simply wants to get too close and lick their faces which the cats object to.
Both dogs are also very other dog friendly. Tate and Gailee are really great friends and they are willing to be friends with everyone else.
As I type this description, both dogs are lying faithfully by my feet in the office. They would make a wonderful, warming addition to any household.
They need gentle bu

Jazz came to me when she was 4 weeks old and she was a chubby healthy kitten when I got her and she has stayed that way. Jazz is a beautiful little girl she is affectionate, cuddly, curious, and playful. Jazz is used to older cats, and spent some time with a small older dog - I would recommend Jazz for any home as she is very well socialised. Jazz is litter trained and has been vaccinated and microchipped and is ready for her forever home!
